The Midwest is by far one of the most breathtaking places I have visited, mostly because it was over 100 degrees. I took this picture while riding on Route 66. This painting was my first experience with using a palette knife to allow the mountains to be textured and more realistic. To create unity in my painting, I included the colors shown on the train throughout the sky. I enjoyed painting this and it continues to take me back to being in the wild west whenever I look at it.
