The Sound Of Bluegrass

Music is one of my greatest passions and it all started with my experience with bluegrass. The mandolin has always been one of my favorite instruments and my love for it is what inspired this drawing. On this piece, I sketched an outline of the image with a pencil and used the "cross-hatch" method with a small-point Sharpie. Cross-hatching is one of my favorite methods of drawing and by using this method, along with the contrast with the colorful background, it allowed the mandolin to be the emphasis of the image.
